Julie Hansen
Certifications:
Julie is Pilates Certified through Body Arts and Science International (BASI) - Comprehensive Teacher Training Course. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management.
Experience:
Julie started practicing Mat Pilates in 2007 and then become a member at Pilates Mill Creek to start working with the Pilates apparatus in 2009. Julie then went through and completed the BASI Pilates Certification afterwards.
Philosophy:
"Always listen to what your body has to say whether it is taking it easy in a work out or pushing it to the next level."
Favorite Pilates exercise:
"The Monkey, because it requires a lot of abdominal strength and you get a good stretch in your spine, hamstrings, and calves."
Inspiration to become a Pilates Instructor:
"I was getting headaches four to five times a week with no relief from medications. I started Pilates as a last resort and within three weeks was no longer experiencing headaches. I believe that Pilates is a form of exercise every one can participate in no matter what fitness level they are at."
Fitness related hobbies:
Julie enjoys hiking, golfing, running and softball.
